Are you tired of being sick and tired?

Here's something to know:


The underlying cause of most disease and illness is inflammation and, as a nation, we eat a predominantly inflammatory diet... which means our diet is a major cause of a lot of pain and illness. 


Fresh Start Meet & Eats' goal is to bring inspiration into the kitchen and better health into your body. 


Over 5 sessions, we will dive into...

  • What foods are anti-inflammatory
  • Where to shop for them, and...
  • How to cook with them


We will use easy-to-find ingredients and simple, tasty recipes. As a chef, I know how to make food tasty!


In each session you will get to taste food, discuss recipes, learn how these foods benefit your body and, most importantly, learn how to know if that food is helping you and working for your body.

Seasonal eating and anti-inflammatory foods play a huge role in your health. 


In this one-on-one session, we will cover what food could be incorporated into your diet to keep you healthy this winter.


This 1 1/2 hour session includes a health consultation, and will take place via Skype or conference call.




Held in the comfort of your home. Bring some friends or family and make it fun! Classes are designed around cooking with Whole Foods.


Some class options...


  • Making delicious dressings and sauces that cannot compete with store-bought alternatives
  • Cooking with whole grains and making them enjoyable
  • Using Greens, Glorious Greens in your diet (the benefits are endless, but can be intimidating when they are new to you)
  • Making anti-inflammatory stocks and soups -- nature's healing foods


Classes run 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Jannette's presentation is well worth attending. I picked up some good tips but, more important, she showed me how to take better care of my heath for the winter, by eating the right winter foods. Thanks, Jannette.

....thank you for a really great class you ran, and the delicious foods and cooking techniques you introduced me to. Your culinary skills, and the holistic approach you utilize to teach about the benefits of organic natural foods, herbs and spices as medicine, is a welcome alternative to chemically-engineered pharmaceuticals. I did make a batch of your tea recipe, and enjoy a cup of the tea warmed up first thing in the morning. So delicious, healthy and relaxing!

This workshop was amazing! Besides learning the benefits of seasonal veggies such as root vegetables, this time of year, we witnessed the making of a very delicious Sweet Potato-Ginger soup with vegetables I'd never heard of (like Jerusalem artichokes) and turmeric. Being not the biggest fan of roots, I was very skeptical on the outcome. Yet, I was in for a surprise; the soup was absolutely delicious, and took very little time to accumulate a lot of flavor. 

Besides this soup, Jannette made a root tea from ginger, lemons, and fresh herbs, as a remedy for colds, or just being under the weather. Again, amazingly tasty!


The last dish was made with oriental mushrooms, roots, and bok choy, and it cooked even faster than the other two. The flavor was out of this world! Quick-to-make healthy veggies that make you feel wonderful -- loved it! 


I hope to see Jannette come back with more workshops as the seasons change.
